Drama Workshops for Key Stage 4 (KS4)

At Key Stage 4, students will likely be undertaking an examination. These workshops are designed to develop their knowledge and understanding of the key drama forms, both in theory and in their application of them in their own practical work. These workshops can be used to help raise attainment and prepare students for examination performances.

KS4 Skills

Drama forms covered within KS4 drama workshops include:- frozen images and tableaux, narration, creating and developing a character, roleplay, mime, slow motion, basic physical theatre, split scene, soundscapes, angel and devil, thought aloud, aside, mantle of the expert, continuums, vocal collages, hot seating, symbolism, essence machine, voices in the head and thought tunnel, devising and directing.

In addition to this, students will develop their interpersonal, social and communication skills; group work and leadership skills; speaking and listening skills; confidence and self-esteem.

We also offer workshops either as introductions or as development of texts being studied for examination; for the development of characters being studied or created; or they can be for devising work – how to approach it/ structuring a devised piece creatively. These can be tailor made to the students requirements.
